Travel Update: UK Travel Documentation Beginning 1/8/2025

US Citizens traveling to or through the UK will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), similar to a visa, beginning 01/08/2025.  Travelers can apply for authorization with Gov.UK or CIBT Visas.  An ETA is not needed if:

  • You have a visa
  • You have permission to live, work, or study in the UK
  • You are a British or Irish citizen
  • You are travelling with a British Overseas Territories citizen passport
  • You live in Ireland and you are travelling from Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, or the Isle of Man.

Travelers booking through CTP going forward will be notified of this new requirement.  Additional questions can be directed to the OSU Travel Office at travel@osu.edu or 614-292-9290.
