Amazon Business Account Overview
The EHE Amazon Business Account must be used for University business purposes only. No personal purchases may be made from a University email address (name.#) in the EHE Amazon Business Account. Using this tax-exempt account for personal use may cause the University to lose its tax-exempt status and the individual may be held liable for fraud by the State of Ohio. All business-related expenses procured through the EHE Amazon Business Account must comply with University Expenditures, PCard, Purchasing and Internal Controls policies.
In addition, the EHE Amazon Business Account has been fully vetted for the assignment of appropriate terms and conditions that meet the University’s legal requirements.
Note: Units should continue to maximize the use of University contracts found in Buckeye Buy before considering Amazon. The Hierarchy of Purchasing Goods and Services is still applicable.
Access Overview
Access to shop in the EHE Amazon Business Account is limited to specific individuals (referred to as Requisitioners) whose duties include management of an active PCard and procurement of goods/services on behalf of the university. Assignment of Requisitioners to the EHE Amazon Business Account must be made by the EHE Business Operations Manager. Please email EHE-BusinessOperations@osu.edu for additional information.
Office staff that wish to make a purchase through Amazon can send product links, along with an approved pcard pre approval form, to a designated EHE Amazon Business Account requisitioner (listed below).
PCard transactions will be reviewed regularly for Amazon purchases. If Amazon purchases are made by pcard holders that are not Amazon business account requisitioners, their pcard may be suspended or cancelled.
Important Note: Purchases sourced through an OSP PCard can only be used for allowable supply expenses on OSP grant worktags.
Purchases sourced through a Univ PCard can only be used for allowable supply expenses on Univ worktags.
